Documenting The Illustrative Design ProcessCreated by Von. R. Glitschka

When you literally have to illustrate hundreds of individual designs you look for the most efficient way possible so as to maximize your productivity and keep the project profitable. Such is the case with this assignment.

I’ll take you through an accelerated creative process that by passes a few of the normal steps I usually take when creating my art in order to meet the projects deadline. All without compromising the quality of the finished work.

  1. Great tutorial!
It’s amazing how much time you can save by skipping that initial drawing, in a repetative project such as this.
Though in some situations I find it hard to “decide” what shapes to make, in the more wishy washy areas like the nose or chin are.

    Thanks

  2. The truncated process described in this download is the exception not the norm. It may cut out a lot of time but that only happens because the style driving the design allows for it and I was provided with very good reference to work from.

Taking the pre-computer board time and working out art can be somewhat slow when you begin to force yourself to do it on every project but over time it’ll become more natural to your process and you’ll move a lot faster. In the long run you’l save time by not spinning your wheels creatively when building, you know what you need to build etc.

So the more you do it the easier and faster it gets.
